12v Source For Radar Detector?

Posted

You already have a RAP terminal available - it's at the bulkhead connector to the left of the brake pedal. Pull the cover off the panel, and the third(?) bay down on the left side column (should be open if you don't have factory rear entertainment), you'll have pins that give you constant 12v, RAP 12v, and ground among other things.

RAP 12v "should" be the leftmost pin on the bottom row. Use a VOM to test. This will ONLY SUPPORT 2 AMPS, so you have to use a relay if you're drawing more than that. (Don't push it - it will blow the fuse if you try to draw more than 2 amps - we know from experience! :- )

Use a .110 female spade connector to slide on to the pin and you're good to go...

How about with the GMT 800 (2007 Sierra Classic)? Where is the RAP connection for that?
