Fresh Tar & Chip Roads...#$%&@% !

There are few things in life I hate more than a road that's recently been covered with tar and chips. Hot sticky tar, topped with loose limestone, and then driven-over (poorly) by a few road machines. This has been going on all week on my routes to work every day. As of this morning, there are no alternate roads I can take that aren't tarred & chipped...the crews are hitting them all. All a man can do is tenderly drive along the road, hoping to minimize the number of tar-covered stones thrown by his tires. I've been wincing and cringing all week, as I hear the random *DING!!* and *PING* of the thrown stones beat up the bottoms of my rocker panels, frame, and bed panels. Sure I drive a 2005 model truck, so I expect my lower painted body surfaces to see some abuse. But God do I hate it....

OK I feel better now...LOL. Maybe I should look into getting my lower body sanded and have a layer of color-matched Rhino Liner sprayed on!

can't stand it! they were doing the same thing where i used to live... the road noise was terrible after all the loose gravel was out! my highway tires sounded like super swampers at 60 mph!!!

Im extremely grateful they don't do that crap here in New Hampshire.

I feel for you, WD40 does wonders for tar, bugs, oil, etc. It also doesn't harm your clear coat. My biggest complaint is the city that I work in has sprinklers that saturate every freakin' road making it almost impossible to have a clean vehicle.

I hate it more in the winter when they put 80,000 lbs of rock salt /per mile on the highway, and you drive down it at 55 and the vehicle in front of you sandblasts you. Now I'm getting evacuated for flooding. Gotta love PA!
