5.3l Bogs Out

Hey guys i know this is probley something we all may have noticed with the 5.3's but hear me out.

i have had this motor before and just dont remember what was the issue. I have CAI, and flowmaster 40 series...single side exit.

ok while just pain driving about 1500 rpms to about 1700rpms if i increase the throttle (give gas) not harsh but graduly the truck bogs out....almost as if maybe trans needs to shift or more fuel or air need to come in (but i got an intake ). truck bogs till about 1k rpms then when about 1/4 throttle the truck will shift down and resume a nice speed incresase.

so what do we think.. Need a tune?, or Trans needs a servo or shift kit cuz of the free flow exhaust?, ( i had a corsa before never remembered it , but did have the servo) or is this another issue

Clean the MAF sensor, disconnect the neg side of the battery while doing so and see if anything changes.

Depending on mileage, maybe a tuneup is in order as well. If nothing else changes, then I'd consider a BB custom tune.

Not sure buy my 03 tahoe with 187,000 miles doesn't do it. Just responding because you said it's something we may have all noticed. How many miles?

My 2001 Silverado did the exact same thing. The MAF cleaning solved my problem. Also had some gunk build up on the throttle body.

100K miles ...hey not bad i didnt think about the mass air thing i will try that...and if not yeah i would love to put a tune on it. I have to admit been a diablo guy for a while Johan there has built some pretty awsome tunes for me .

kinda old but i will keep this going for some who may be interested can know. Found out this is transmission related....although the problem hasnt been totaly diaged, i did find out that if i tap the brake the torque converter will lock up and rpms will increase. so idk but will post when all gets figured out
