09 Sierra Usb Hookup?

i remember looking for one for my 06 and read alot about them for the gmt900 trucks, but this was going back to november, so ive just bought an 09 sierra and thought it might have had one in one of the power outlets, both are just power outlets. so is there an easy way to add one so i can just plug in my usb stick? or maybe a way to run a usb adapter to that little aux input hole?

USB input is a radio-specific feature so if it is possible to retrofit it to a model year that didn't have it (I don't think it became an option till 2010 but don't hold me to that) you'd at least need the radio which I think has to be programmed to your truck. I don't think any such adapter exists as USB is a powered port and the aux. in isn't. You might be able to find an FM modulator that plugs into one of the power points with a USB or aux. out though. If you can make the radio work though do it, I use my iPod and little else most days. Interface is real basic compared to Ford's Sync but it works well enough.

good info thanks fellas, missed it by one year. wasnt sure if it was a gmt900 or year specific deal. ill stick to aux and my phone or ipod. thanks guys
