Hi:

Tire question: I have a 2010 Silverado 1500 LT 5.3 with 19,000 miles on it. Stock tire is a P265/70/17 Goodyear Wrangler AT/S.

I noticed in the last rain storm the rear tires started to break loose in the corners and a lot more wheel spin on wet roads. I have rotated these tires every 5K miles. Is it normal for these tires to wear so quickly?

I do not do any towing just use the truck as a daily driver with some yard work loads on the weekend. 99% of the miles are road and highway.

My question is if I need new tires what are the best to get in this size. I live in New England, five or six good snow storms a year (six inch's or more) and a lot of icy roads from the melting and freezing.

  They are more than decent and about to go out of production I'm hearing as they are in direct competition to some of the other 'names' within the Goodyear brand. They only annoying trait they have is not uncommon to many brands. If let to sit for weeks they take a set and feel out of balance for a few miles until they return to normal. My mega-dollar Pirelli Scorpions did the same thing. Driven every day you never notice. Starfire Solarus HT is what is on the Pickup. Speed rating T. Dizzy is at the shop and I don't remember which is on that one.

They come with any and every bracket, speaker and foam needed. They sounded great to me when I used the stock system. After I went all out and added a new head unit, amp they sounded even better.   Thanks for the responses. It may well be related to the key fob unlock function - the truck unlocks itself driving down the road as well (neglected to mention in first post ;o((. I have a real basic model doesn't have the auto window rolldown function so nothing comes up on "settings" (or anywhere else I can find). Holding the unlock button didn't make window roll down happen either. I guess the electronics might still be installed but disabled for my base line truck. I put the fuse back in so all windows work from the driver side, now but the lock function doesn't work at all on driver side. Unlock does work from drivers' side and lock does work from passenger side. I am not at same location as other key fob, so we'll just work with key only for now. The fob I've been using has been relocated to away from truck and that seems to keep windows up. A new fob is expensive, isn't it?

  Remote window operation is on. Your fob is being activated in your pocket and is putting pressure on the unlock long enough to trigger the remote window down feature. You can turn it off in the vehicle settings. Or, if you want it on, consider changing where you are putting your key fob on your person.

  After nearly 3 years of waiting I finally got rid of the chrome wheels. They were just too much. Next are the factory running boards. Very functional and sturdy but too bulky and they stick way out. Just my opinion anyway.
