8.1 L Oil Sensor Test

Greeting all.

 

I have a 2003 8.1 L Pickup that the oil pressure guage reads all over the map. Depends on the day and its mood. I am trying to verify if this is a sending unit issue or in the cluster. I understand the cluster can be problematic on these trucks. I do not have any special tools to read the pressure on the sending unit. Is there an easy way to determine where the problem is? The truck is not throwing any codes.
