Replaced Blower Motor Resistor, Now Blower Not Working

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I did some reading on this problem on this forum and others, and thought I had it figured out, but must not have. Looking forward to hearing your suggestions on this -- thanks!

Vehicle: 2005 Sierra SLT Crew Cab 4WD

Original problem: Blower motor jumped up to high speed all on its own one morning, then the blower motor continued to run, even when the vehicle was shut off - ran the battery dead. I installed a new blower motor resistor (bought from my local GM dealer), and thought I had fixed the problem - everything worked as it should for about 2 days.

New Problem: This morning, nothing blowing at all. Haven't had time to open up and look for any probems with the resistor I installed this weekend, but I am pretty sure everything (connections) are good.

Any ideas?

Check with your dealer. I just had a similar problem (blower didn't work on lower 2 speeds) with my 06. Dealer replaced the resistor for no charge, they said it was covered by GM. I assume there is some kind of special progam or service bulletin.
