Ses Light On When Cold

I just bought this truck from the dealer about 3 weeks ago, so far 2 mornings when I start the truck the service engine soon light comes on (flashing) and stays on until I give it some throttle like pulling out of the driveway or accelerating up to speed. Once it goes off (usually a second or two after I first touch the gas) it stays off. Both mornings were the coldest mornings here so far, probly mid 30's to mid 40's degree. Any thoughts on what this could be and is it going to need to be fixed soon? I have already changed my air filter, fuel filter, oil/oil filter and cleaned the MAF. It also has a slight miss when idling which is more pronounces when cold but hardly noticeable if even there when it is warm. No other problems out of it.

Truck is 2002 2500hd 6.0 106k miles.

Get the codes read

Hard to do that when you work 100 hours a week and the nearest auto parts store is 30 min away one way. I was hoping someone had this issue before and knew what it was while I sit here at work worrying about it.

Well you know you've got a miss. Track the cause(s) down. Which can be many. Plugs, wires, coil packs, intake leaks, fuel pressure problems, O2 sensors. That's where I'd start. Knowing the codes, if any, might point you more in the right direction. Order a code reader from Amazon for about 30 bucks delivered to your door maybe.

well fmf the auto parts store here scanner tool was stolen a couple weeks ago so now they don't have one

I assume you are talking about a 92 model GMC that you have listed in the side bar. If so you don't need a scan tool to retrive the codes. You can use a paper clip or a cotter pin. Check the link below.
