Best Floor Jack

Looking to purchase a new floor jack.

Have had my eye on one from NAPA that will lift the truck without using any blocks between the pad and frame. The tire shop had one that worked.

 

Anyone have a NAPA jack? Like/dislike?

 

Any other recommendations?

 

I have a Hein-Werner now, it's fine, just not high enough for my truck with the lift installed. So i'll be selling it in the future

I bought one of these on sale for $60. Maximum saddle height: 18-1/4". I was so impressed that I bought 3 more for Christmas presents:

They go on sale a lot.

 

I always use a piece of 3/4" plywood between the jack and frame just to keep from scratching or denting the frame.

I have a craftsman pro 4ton. I love it. I use a little block between the frame and the jack and a rag to keep from marking the frame (OCD). I told my wife I wanted a floor jack for xmas last year, she went to sears and got the best one she could find with the craftsman name on it bc thats the name she knows. I knew there was a reason I married her!

Just be careful when using a block of wood on a jack. It's best to use plywood because it is less likely to split. If you want a thicker spacer, stop by construction sites and look for a cut-off of 4x6. They make the larger beams out of laminated plywood now. It doesn't split.

Yea, a floor jack is not something you want to skimp on. I've very happy with my craftsman 3 ton jack and stands, I got the set that came with the creeper on sale for under $100.

I second the Craftsman. I had an old floor jack, who knows what kind or age, for previous vehicles. Once I got the Sierra it wasn't working out so well. Handle too short, not strong enough so for a Christmas gift the wife let me go shopping & found a 3 ton Craftsman on sale. It's got the long handled reach I needed & easily lifts the truck everytime, unlike previous jack. Only drawback is my driveway sucks so it doesn't always roll so nicely but the house is a rental & I can always move...
