dexos1 or GM609M

i just bought a brand new gmc sierra crew cab 4.8l v8 and well i was doing research on what oil to use and well it all came down to my owners manual, MY 2011 GMC sierra manual says nothing about dexos1 it does how ever say this: " Use only an oil that meets GM Standard GM6094M, SAE 5W-30, and shows the american petroleum institute certified for gasoline engines starburst symbol. So fellow gm owners please give some feed back this has really been troubling and puzzling me let me know what the right oil specs are for 2011 gm trucks!

Any quality oil you choose should be on the list or if not on the list, it will still meet the standards.
