2011 sierra 1500 crewcab 4x4, pull a gooseneck??

Again, reread the OP posting..."I read the owners manual and it says that my truck is neither designed or intended to pull a gooseneck or fifth wheel." Check your local traffic laws. You could also be pulled over & given a ticket/fined for towing/hauling improperly.

 

 

I find it hard to believe that a cop is going to see this guy towing and say: "That guy has a crew cab short bed 1500, According to his owners manual that truck is not designed to tow a gooseneck.......Lets go get him!!!"

 

 

Actually in my part of the world it is quite common for the DOT to pull people over and check there loads and there weights. They have portable scales that they make you drive on. If your overweight, the force you to stop or unload, as well as give you a stack of fines. Snowmobilers with sled decks have issues with them all the time.

 

Also, if you did have an accident while your were overloaded, your insurance company would NOT cover you.

I understand D.O.T pulls people over. I am a commercial truck driver so I've been pulled into inspections many times. I was referring to the odds that a cop would know that a crew cab short bed 1500 was not supposed to be towing a gooseneck according to the manual. I never advised him to pull an overweight trailer.
