Fuel pump sending unit whining like crazy

Well my fuel pump has really started to whine this past month, it doesnt matter whether its full or empty, hot or cold, it whines constantly. Thinking about changing it.

 

I found this part number:

Gm part number = 25314321

AC Delco number = MU146

 

Are these numbers correct for my truck?

When did you last change the fuel filter? My fuel pump did the same thing until I replaced the filter.

It should be changed every 10k.

I'll agree with Ray, check the filter first as others told me when I had a whine in mine.  That didn't work, so the dealer ended up replacing the pump under warranty.

Mine has been doing it since I bought it w/30k miles. It now has 53k miles and still whines.  Has not caused a problem.  This issue was previously discussed on the "Whining Fuel Pump" thread.  Do a search and see what was said.  Mine is loud sometimes and quiet at others.  Sometimes the noise volume is in between loud and quiet but has not caused a problem.  I'll replace it when it fries.
