strafingmoose Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Hey guys, Has anyone ever driven those in these conditions ? They do have that little triangle pictogram with the snow flake/mountain on them, but the thread does not look as aggressive as my old Dean Wintercats did. I heard they are soft tires, which is what you want under icy/packed snow conditions... I bought the 245/70/17, which were the size of the M+S tires that were on when I bought the truck. Any comments ? Thx EDIT: Oh yeah, this beast does not have the G80 on as opposed to my old 2003 Sierra
strafingmoose Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 Upon closer look, these are SAT KL61.
strafingmoose Posted December 7, 2011 Author Posted December 7, 2011 Alright so tried those last weekend on packed snow and ice, no good. Definitely, do not go with AT tires for these condition.
Fallz Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Lets see ice and hard packed snow ??? No tires work on that unless your studded . Hard packed snow is just as bad as ice and you will need something that digs in to it , so studded is your option.
