'93 seals going

Replacing the seals is simple, if the engine is on a bench in front of you.  Getting to the rear-main is the problem.  There tend to be big heavy things hanging off the back of the engine, like the transmission and (if applicable) Transfer case.

The rear main is leaking on my '91...and it's starting to make the clutch chatter.  If it had an automatic I don't think I'd ever bother to fix it, but it'll probably come to the top of my list here one of these days.  The more pressing problem right now is that the notorious intake manifold gasket has let go...but I consider myself lucky because the coolant is going overboard and not into the pan.  I've got the gasket, now i I just had the time....I don't know if it'll be in before Christmas.

If I had to do both on my truck I would pull the engine and do them on the stand, removing the transmission/transfer to do the rear one and stripping the front end to do the front one (while standing on your head in the engine compartment) does not sound like fun at all. Just my opinion.
