Lift ?'s and options

OK OK OK , I am scared to lift my truck......

I have a 2" DS leveling kit on now . My wheel wells measure 39" at all 4 corners I have had no problem with it at all and ride quality has remained the same , BUT naturally I want to go a tad bit higher and take off the DS kit and stay level or close to it so I don't really need a AAL just a little bigger block in the rear.

I am NOT looking for a big lift and still will prob stay with a 285 tire. I would like a 3 or 4" MAX kit and when I read stuff on here about the Rancho kit people are saying they get 5" and thats just too much . I looked at Rancho because of it's name and the ability to get the adjustable ride shocks.

I am just skeptical because I hear these stories of skipping and the traction control going on and wider turning radius , CV boot and stuff going bad , ect.....

I also have to keep it on the lower side because of hauling my dad around and he is getting old (75) and has health issues and would have a hard time climbing in if it's too high although he is big (6'11") so that a help. My wife on the other hand is short and petite so I would put some step bars on for them.

So help me out since Im chicken and overly worried about doing a lift. If it sat up like a 3/4 ton I would be happy.

Thank you

Keep your leveling kit and add a body lift. You most certainly won't have any issues with traction control, turning radius, etc. if you go that route.

Nuke , I like your kit and followed your build . That is what I am looking for at max. Do you have that skipping issue and the other issue some people complain about ? were you able to get aligned without any issue ?

Truck drives like stock, no issue with alignment and I haven't noticed any turning radius issues. I did have to do some trimming to clear the tires. I would not recommend the 295/65-18 tires 3 different shops have balanced them and I still have a shake. It could be the wheels, but hard to tell.
