'09 Silverado Ext Cab - PAC-OS4 - Separate Speaker/Functionality

Hey guys, getting ready to install a new stereo system this weekend in my '09 ext cab, non bose. Trying to get everything lined out to see if I can knock it out in one weekend. I'm going to be installing front an rear components, a 10" sub, and a Pioneer 3300BT H/U. I will be using the PAC-OS4 module to retain some of the factory sounds.

I am a little confused as to how the integration works exactly, but I think I have it nailed down for the most part. The PAC-OS4 receives the audio signal from the radio, then adds the chime signals? I am reading a lot about loud chimes so I was looking at a few options.

I will be using all 3 RCA preamps for front/rear/sub, so I have no need for the powered output from the H/U. Option 1 was to just connect the PAC wires to the factory wiring, but don't connect the powered input from the stereo. Being that the door speakers are no longer connected, only the tweeters would still be hooked up to the factory wiring. I have 2 concerns with this option. One being that the PAC unit may need a powered input to add its signal, that it can't supply the sound to the speakers on its own? Second being that the filtering cap on the tweeters may remove some of the chimes?

Option 2 was to mount a separate speaker under the dash or somewhere. I have the same concern as far as the output from the PAC units goes without audio input from the H/U. I really don't want output from the H/U getting to either the tweeter options or the separate speaker options. As for quality of sound from the tweeters, I'm not too worried about it as I will not being using OnStar, only chime/blinkers and warning sounds.

Can anyone shed some light on this, how the unit works etc...? What would my best option be?

Thanks!

Im going to try using a separate speaker under the dash. Im doing most of the install this weekend but dont have that seperate speaker yet. I may try one of the stock tweeters and see how it goes. When i do get it all done and working right ill let you know if ive figured it out right.
