Dyno Tune?

Is $550 to much for a tune on a dyno? I have a local shop here quoted me that price. They use HPtuners software and I would have to bring it back to him to get it flashed back to stock if I have warranty service. He say that there would be no charge to that or if any maybe $10 . The dyno is a Mustang brand 1100SE, Eddy Current machine. Now is he able to tune the trans also with HPT and the dyno?

Now BB has the autocal which I wouldn't have to go anywhere to get it back to stock, but would I gain better gain from the local guy?

Depends on how skilled he is at tuning, bb is excellent for myself and many others here, when I got my new pcm I dynoed it and seen the definate hp and tq gains etc, justin also let's you log a few files after the new tune so he can fine tune the truck. Either way, it was cheaper for me to get bb than local. And you can keep your old pcm for 100 extra bucks. Maybe cost you around 350. Just email justin or jenna, jenna is usually on the forum here

I don't think $550 is a good price. I think it's a little high. You can achieve almost the same thing with some data logging but you won't get that fancy print out that says how much HP you got. I believe that you'll yeild about the same performance either way. Plus if you go with the autocal, you can load your stock tune for free

The Mustang Dyno is a good tuning dyno, however, it will all come down to the tuner.

 

How long will the tuner spend with you? We charge $450 for a dyno tune and Justin spends 2-3hrs with the customer. We also do a street tune/check after the dyno tune, to make sure that it drives the way the customer wants it to. I would definitely recommend doing a street check after any dyno tune- cars perform differently on the dyno and on the road.
