Service 4wd light

Have a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 HD. Just replaced my transfer case about a year ago (bad chain).

Been getting a service 4wd light on info center. Replaced the switch on the dash. Service 4wd light still comes on, when it does, cannot switch out of 2wd. Turn engine off and back on it works for a few hours, then service lights comes back on. Took it into the shop, the ran tech 2 on it and said the encoder motor was bad. Had them replace that. Worked fine for two weeks and now service 4 wd light back on. Any other ideas out there, dont want the shop to keep on charging me for every switch they can find.

it needs to be scanned again and everytime the light comes on "any ideas" doesnt work for this

 

what was the first code that came up ? or did you throw a switch at it ?...i reread it ,,,you threw a switch at it ,,,,,,tisk tisk
