97 C1500 Blower motor resistor

I need to replace the blower motor resistor on my 97 pickup. The symptoms are no fan on levels 1 thru 3 but works on high. Now I need to know, where do I find the module on the unit? I've been told that it's on the blower housing but, I don't see it anywhere. Could someone provide me with a detailed description as to exactly where it is, or a photo showing the location would be helpful and greatly appreciated. My Haynes book dosen't show it.

As far as I know the resistor is in the plenum itself.  The wiring should go from the control to the resistor to the motor.  You may be able to pull the blower motor and look/reach inside the plenum and find the resistor.

I don't know if this is the set-up in your truck, but it is normally the way it works.  Good Luck!!!   :D

Well, I finally located it. I removed the glove box, which was a simple matter of pushing in on the right side to enable the rubber stop to squeeze past the side and unhooking the lanyard from the left side. The box just drops right off. The resistor is right on top of the plenum chamber as you look into the opening from the glove box in the upper left. It a bit tight up there, cut up a couple knuckles in the process but got the job done. Took about 30 minutes.
