Front Suspension question(s)

With 133K on my '01 YXL 1500 front(all original) end, can someone give me an idea of what I should be looking to swap out(and what to replace with) and what it would cost?

When driving straight down the road at any speed, a sound will start up on the drivers side that sounds like sand and gravel swirling around in the bottom of a metal garbage can. It comes and gos. Last night i jacked up the front end and with my hands at 9 and 3 I could teeter both wheels back and fourth, so some good slop on both sides there. Tie rods, ball joints, shocks? Everything?

Thanks!

The way you described that sound tells me hub bearings. The sound will be louder turning one direction at speed ( such as a sweeping turn on a rural highway ), then quiet the other direction. Replace both, if that's what it is.

They're between $150 -$200 at autoparts chain stores.

Timken has been a solid brand for years now, however nowadays it seems nothing lasts anymore. But so far, the 2 Timkens I installed in a customer's 99 Blazer last March are still holding up.

Thanks - so with a little help(ok it was alot of help!) from a friend, we replaced both front hubs, both inner tie rods and the pitman arm. Gave her an alignment and all is good, quiet, and tight again for now.

Good deal!

Someday I'll gather up the motivation to replace the lower ball joints on my 51k mile '07 .... :)
