I just installed a pro rack and wanted to chage to a black low profile tool box, however the one i want is a Weather guard and the are 71" long.

The outside dimension on the rack mounts is 68". the box would hang over the tool box brackets.

Has any one ever installed a Weather Guard 131-5-01 which is a low profile 66" long? this would fit on the rails with an inch on each side... would this look GOOFY?

If you can get one, I prefer UWS (United Wedling Services). They are much better quality than Kobalt from Lowes, or other department hardware store brands.

I have a Weatherguard in my shed that is the stoutest Ive ever seen, but it cost close to $750+ new (I got it on trade so I didnt pay that much). Its an awesome box if you are a contractor or something that can justify that cost.

Yep I'l second that.

I got my box from Atwoods it has no name on it but it was cheaper than Autozone and Kobalt the reason I went with it is because all three were identical except for the name on it. so far it has worked great. It's the chest style that sits down in the bed and is made for an s-10 so I do wish I had the bigger one but at the time I got it I had an s10 so ...

I bought some long hook bolts the kind I think you would use to hang a swing I guess and drilled through the side of the box so they are ran to the tie down spots at the sides of the bed to secure the box pretty handy seeing how it puts no holes in the silverado and lets me quickly remove it.
