Quick tuning question...

The factory manifold are leaking pretty bad, So im gong with a set of gibson ceramic shortys.. Not really a big change but do you think justin can or should adjust air/fuel mixture..

Im gonna do a comp cam also as soon as i can depending on work load/cash flow.. But my Question about the cam is what should be replaced with the cam VS just stuffing the stick in and driving it,

Should pushrods,rockers,lifters,etc,,, be changed to make it all work right? Ive seen a bunch of 8.1 trucks on you tube with cams and they seem to run good and sound/idle awesome..

Since you already are going to have the engine "apart" ,as I would consider putting in a Cam as more that a simple "bolt-on" just do it right and do the entire valvetrain. I would also say what is your budget? And in your case of a HD daily driver where power is second only to good relablity ask the cam manufacture what they would recommend as a "system" and that may also save you some money if they sell everything as a complete set. I can only answer the tune question regarding shorties. I contacted Justin with the same question about my GMT 900 '07 and he told me that a re-tune would not be required for shorties. This may be different with your big block but from the info I recieved from him it would not constitute a big enough change to update.

I definitly want to do the cam right and have it working like it should wih the correct parts, I didnt really think any tuning adjustments would be needed but you never know.. Some guys like to really fine tune and adjust
