homemade push bar on 08 silverado

I got a brush guard off a wrecked truck at work and decided to try and make a light bar/push bar for my truck. It slides into a hitch hidden in my front bumper so its easy to take on and off, I'm not sure exactly how I'm gonna do the lights but I have two pair of kc lights from another project. Anyway just wanted some other opinions http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/z476/wadeheatherdallas/utf-8BSU1BRzAzMTMuanBn.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/z476/wadeheatherdallas/utf-8BSU1BRzAzMTIuanBn.jpg

i think it looks very unique. I like it. did you mount it to the tow hook mounting points? looks like it is nice and tight to the bumper.

Would be nice for a fishing pole mount for surf fishing setup w/lights. On MD's eastern shore some use this setup. Doesn't quit match your new looking ride though.

While I applaud your skill and ingenuity, it just doesn't look right on a modern truck. Kinda looks like a Mad Max machine!

Ha I appreciate the comments, I was unsure about it too, but I can remove it in 30 seconds and I figured I had gone this far so might aswell finish it. It is attached by a receiver mounted behind the front bumper so one pin and one bolt that stabilizes it is all that holds it on. I thought about capitalizing on the fact it looks like something from mad max and adding spikes to the front of it, would be awesome for rouge deer

If you cut off the top 1/3,and just used the top 1l3 i think it would be ok its a little to busy for my taste

IMO, you could even add more to it

The first thing people notice on my truck is always the bumper. Looks kinda tacky to some, but most people around here love it (and ones like yours)

Damn, you must live out in the sticks with that bumper. They allow hunting with your truck down there? :M16:

I guess sticks is one word for it. I live 7 miles from the nearest town, which has about 2000 people. Five miles of the drive is dirt.

And they might as well allow hunting with em, deer have a habit of throwing themselves into vehicles here.

That's pretty rural!

Sounds like where I grew up in PA. I love living in the "sticks". Can't wait to move back to such a place again.

It looks as if you wont be able to remove the covers for the lights because they are tight against that bar infront of them....

As far as wiring them goes, why not use a 4 pin connector used for trailer lights? all you need is a hot and a ground so you could use 2 prongs for hot and 2 for ground that way your not running to much juice through the wires....
