Cam swap wanted LS6 possibly?

would the LS6 cam be a good fit in my 4.8 or should i look at something else?

I saw a couple of ppl get about 35hp from that swap,BE sure to get comp cams pushrods though the stock ones bend easy.That cam should wake up that 4.8L,i would aslo consider new valve springs.

the cam will work just fine, but most people running it in a 4.8L love it for turbo applications.

are you looking for high end horsepower or low down torque?

I ran a 2002 LS6 cam in my 02 LS1 Camaro SS for a few months. With stock 241 heads, LT headers, Intake, exhaust, ASP pulley, ported TB, and tuned it made 376rwhp @ 361rwtq @ 6500rpms. Overlayed against the stock LS1 cam dyno graph the LS6 cam made no additional power until 3500rpms and did not come on strong until 4500rpms where the LS6 cam began to really pull away. Made 34 more rwhp @ 6500rpms and 12rwtq @ 4400rpms. It's top end cam for sure. The forced induction guys love it as it's an excellent blower cam. I would steer far away if you are looking for lowend power.

Would that cam also require a new tq converter?

in my 5.3 i put a comp XR259HR (206/212 .515/.522 112 LSA) its got really great low and mid range torque and the top end is still better than factory. When I bought it I figured it was smarter to have the power where I use it the most. I gained a solid 2 mpg on the highway with it.
