chrome door handles

So i saw stevens11(the post ho, lol) chrome door handles and said , self that is a must have very classy!. no , i didn't take pics because i don't like to be interupted when involved( i"ll post pics later) in a project, but i will say say it is a very easy install, which also motivated me to put in my new front door speaker (polk db651) now in all four doors. i'am not an audiofile but the stereo now sounds like it should have from the factory( LT model), anywho this is a very easy upgrade, that brought a smile to my face. Next is my 35" tire upgrade on stock rims(18") , which i have reseached profusely and i will post when my decision is final and i will post honest results.

Congrats on the install. Yep swapping out the door handles isn't bad at all.

You have to pull the inner door panels I assume?

I'm always wary of doing that because it always seems when do that at the dealership the panel doesn't go back like it came from the factory, the panel or the paint gets scratched or something.

Glad I could help I did Escalade door handles on my 03, and did the Chrome swap on both of my GMC's. I like the mod.

 

And pulling the door handles off the GMT-800 and GMT-900 trucks is VERY easy and takes minutes. After you do one, your an expert and the rest take like 5-7 minutes to remove.

I'm very interested in doing this on my wife's 08 Yukon XL. It is black and the paint is chipping off of the handles badly. It looks terrible and drives me nuts.

 

How did you get the new handle keyed to match the ignition? Did you have to order specifically for your VIN or does the key lock come out somehow? Only the driver's door has a key lock on it.

the lock is held with a wire clip, the lock ass. slides right out once you pull the clip, slide the ass. into the new handle and insert clip !

very, very easy.
