I have been looking for awhile now and finally found a new truck. I bought a Ford F350 Crew Cab Lariat 4X4 FX4 7.3 PSD. I know how some of you feel about Fords but this was the best truck available for my needs.

Hey John, congrats on the new purchase.  Don't leave!!!  You know we're all gonna want to see some pics of your new truck, and about how much it ran you if ya care to share.

I am not going anywhere any time soon. Being a mod on this site I have committed myself to the success of the site. I will post some pics soon. I got a really good deal and payments are only $116 a month more then what I was paying on the Stepside Z.

I dont mind Fodes.  Navistar makes a good engine!  Wether it be a DT466 or T444E (The Stroke), they are good engines.  Good fuel injection design, derived from Caterpillars HEUI methodology.  Utilizes oil pressure to increase fuel injection pressure.  Glow plugs are still a ##### to replace.  Just make sure you run some type of additive in your coolant or you will start to get cavitation.  Impurities that develop in the coolant over time will start to eat at the liners and coolant will leak through them into the cylinders.  Fleetguard makes a good kit that comes with the additive and a bottle of coolant test strips to test the nitrite in the coolant.  Check the fuel filter and water seperator.  If the truck sits outside, throw some power service in your fuel just in case it gets cold enough that wax would start forming in your fuel.  I worked with both the 7.3 and the 7.6 in International trucks and never ran into any huge problems other than engine position sensors and the ocassional Injection pressure solenoid on a DT.  With the Powerstroke all I usually did with those was glow plugs and the usual service.

Anyways, I hope I didnt bore anyone with this.  I was just bored and decided to type something.  :seeya:  Congrats on your purchase!  I still want an F-350 dually, theyre sweet!!

Soon I will convert all of you!

Sorry paco, you won't be converting this guy to any Ford.  Not until it has one of these under the hood anyway...

That can be arranged JP.  But the particular Ford it is available in may not fit too well between your crop rows!

Congrats on the new truck Stepside!  :thumb:

Have you looked at F-650/750 trucks?  They have them!

Hey StepSideZ,

Give BD Powers website a look.  They've got all kinds of cool stuf for your truck!!  They just made a monitor you can attatch to your a-pillar called the X-monitor.  It will display exhaust gas temp, tranny temp, and boost pressure.  They also make exhaust brakes, if you need that sort of thing.  All kinds of other stuff, too much to list.  Just thought I would throw that in there and let you know to give their site a look!

I have been looking into the X-monitors. I am not really sure what route I am going to take yet. I am going to get an AIC first, then I will look harder at gauges.

I didn't buy a Chevy for a couple of reasons. The main one being that none of the Chevy dealerships I visited gave me the deal the Ford Dealer did.
