How to get back to a stock tune?

My engine is stock. Justin said he tuned me for a regular/midgrade tune. I haven't emailed you all because I wasn't sure if I just can't notice the difference. I have read so many good reviews about Black Bear and that's why I wanted to wait a few months to see if it changed any when i ran regular or midgrade. And no I haven't done anything to the truck since the tune.

To answer the other questions I was still getting 14.5 MPG with the trail graps. Now my average is 13.4. Once again its nothing major I just dont know if I can't notice the tune or what.. I guess when I fill up next I will put premium in and see if its worth paying extra for. Thank you all for the input and when I got the tune it was an overall great experience.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it and I missed it but your new tires/wheel combo could be heavier causing the drop in mileage too Not sure if you had the wheels/tires before the tune or after. But depending on timing, your math could be off

The larger tires I put on my truck cost me 1mpg average.

Switching fuel grades all the time is not going to help. You NEED to run the same fuel that your truck was tuned for. Whatever grade gasoline was in your tank when he did the tune, that's what you need to use.

Did you have your speedo recalibrated with the tune to match the larger tires?

Yes speedo was recalibrated and I am still currently running midgrade

Did you have those wheels and tires on when the tune was done? And was the speedo corrected by Justin when the tune was done? Maybe your better mileage was with the speedo being off due to the large tires, and correcting the speedo actually gave you correct mileage?

Once again yes I had the tires on before the tune and was getting around 15mpg after the tune I am constantly getting 13.4 no matter if its highway or city.

The second part of my question was the important part. When did you have the speedo reading corrected? Before, during, or after the tune? That alone can make the difference in mileage.

It was only 3-5 miles off before the tune and he was able to calibrated to about 2-3 mph closer to the actual speed.

Keep in mind that the speedo is out by a percentage, not by a static number. 5 mph at 50 mph is some where from 9% to 11%, depending on if it is higher or lower than actual speed. Your mileage will also be out by the same percentage. As will your odometer. It may not account for all of the difference, but will account for a good part of it.

I don't know when the tune was done (season wise), and do not know if you get "winter" gas in SC. Where I am, mileage in winter takes a big nose dive.

I had the 33 inch trails on my leveled 5.3 and the gas numbers, I can almost guarantee, are 95% due to the tires/wheels. I wasn't running any tunes, was bone stock, with 33 " trails and would average 13-15, it was ALWAYS closer to 13. You step on the gas hard once a tank and it'll make a difference. Another reason I went to coopers, I learned that my truck is 95% highway and MUDs were not the best for me.
