How to get back to a stock tune?

I got an in person black bear tune a couple months ago and I never really felt much of a difference. I put midgrade in my truck and have been since then and still haven't notice much of a difference. I guess because it's just a stock truck. The only thing that really did change was my gas mileage. I went from 15 down to about 13. I just want to go back to stock and not mess with it anymore

Need to take the autocal and reload stock tune, same as you did when loading the aftermarket tune. Seems odd tho, I haven't heard anyone dissapointed with BB.

I'm guessing you will have to contact Black Bear. Since you did the in-person tune and probably don't have an autocal you probably can't tune it back to stock without Justin's assistance.

Yep without Autocal, you'll need to send your ecm back or get Justin to send you another to swap. That's why some people buy spare ecm/tcm. There is always the cable tune method too. Email Justin and see what he says. Maybe you need further tweeks on your tune.

I find it hard to believe you can't tell much difference in your truck with a BB tune. You're the only one I've heard of. I can let people drive mine with the stock tune, then swap to the BB tune and they are amazed

Wow, with a custome tune done by people who know how to tune, you should notice a huge improvement. Black Bear Performance are very good at what they do. If I were you, I would contact them, they are always willing to help.

Yeah, have justin send you the logging tool back and run some files, maybe something went wrong, Are you also tuned for premium or just mid grade? You will def tell a difference if you go full premium

maybe it's because I didn't go full premium. I ran midgrade for a few months and didn't notice then ran regular for awhile and didn't even notice a difference from dropping to regular other than it seem like it runs out quicker. I'm back running mid grade and driving like a baby now since my gas mileage decreased

I would also assume that your mileage went down due to you putting those 33'' Trail Grapplers on...

Good point, did the drop happen before or after? Those tires are heavy at 73lbs each and those rims are heavy to at 38lbs

I think you'll see the difference when you go back to stock. I remember having HP3 on my 03 and didn't think it did much. When I returned it to stock, I saw it made quite the difference. :dunno:

+1

Anytime I take mine back to stock I can tell a huge difference

if you want to go back to stock, you'll have to get a stock ecm and do a crank relearn

Not necessary. Justin saves each and every tune for his customers to include the stock in case you want to go back.

Have you emailed us with your concerns? We can certainly look up your logs and see where any issues might be. Did you do any mods post tune? Were you running good quality gas at a higher octane? Depending on your engine, you should always be running premium.
