03 Yukon Steering wheel buttons not working

I just changed my axel seals and steering gear box and now the buttons on the steering wheel stopped working. They don't light up or work. I didn't touch any wires so what could it be?????

apparently working under the truck ,you broke the the switches,,,,,,,,,,,,way to go !!!!!

Did you secure the steering wheel so it couldn't move/turn during steering box repair? If not you farked up SIR coil in the column

yes darral ,i was only joking about breaking something, but this is exactly what he did ,

 

you can fix it yourself if you know how ,get a svc manual

No I didn't secure it so that's what's wrong. Thanks hopefully I can figure that out.

SIR coil will have to be replaced. Airbag is involved in this so be very careful and follow a service manual for instructions

I did the same thing you did and am getting the same results. So you are not alone.

 

What is odd is that my volume control buttons work when the headlights are OFF but not when they are on.
