NNBS Sierra Console Swap

I've done some reading about guys swapping out the jump seat for a console. I have a 2011 Sierra WT Nevada Edition. Before I start looking for an SL to rip a center console out of, has anyone attempted to do this while working around the 4x4 floor shifter? I saw a picture of a guy who made it work in an 03 here , but that doesn't help me with the NNBS.

I don't think it would work around the floor shifter without modification to either the shift lever or the cup holder area of the console. The console is going to be much taller than your shifter in that area because all of the trucks that the LT2 console comes with have the electronic 4x4.

I would not bend the shift lever like shown in the link you posted. Would probably be better to weld a new piece of steel from the top of the existing shifter on a 90degree angle to the left. Make it just long enough that when the console is installed, the shifter knob is just barely outside the console. (reason for not bending is if you want to return to stock, it will be easier to cut it at your weld point than trying to unbend it)

You won't really need to do much trimming at all. You will just need to trim a slot on the side of the console the thickness of the piece of steel you used for your shifter extension. You would also have functioning cup holders since you don't have to cut that area to use your floor shifter. Also wouldn't be able to see anything was trimmed unless you are looking from the driver side.

You can also fill in the excess gap around the new shift lever by adding a piece of rubber to the top and bottom of the cut out. Just enough to allow the shifter to slide smoothly. (or that stuff used on the older trucks with floor shift, not sure what it's called but looked like the brissels from a snow brush). Would look factory when you're finished.
