Auto Lock Problem

I think I'm posting a simular issue to others but can't find this exact issue.

I'm having problems with the driverside rear door lock on my 2008 Sierra Crew Cab. So far it seems intermittent but I'm trying to nip it before it goes completely. Neither the fob or the autolock button will lock or unlock the door. I can manually lock and unlock it and it sounds like something is clicking in the door so I think the actuator is working. Infact the manual pull moves slightly when you hit the fob button. The other three doors are working fine.

Has GM had issues with this on these models?

Is there anything I can try before or anything I should be looking for when I pull the door panel.

It would be my luck that something simply broke, especially since I just bought the truck a week ago, but just trying to get some info before I dig into this thing.

Thanks

Hi, your right ... there are lots of other posts on the actuators. GM does have a problem with them, when one goes sometimes even the replacement ones go bad sooner than you hope.

we all have them go like you've mentioned. Even after warranty I personally had two of them go within a week of each other. Gm replaced them for free.

Don't play around contact the dealer and tell them nicely if it is not warrantied you've read about the problem on this web site. I did.

Their not cheap, and labour extensive.

Not labor extensive at all but the actuator is kind of expensive. If it moves alittle bit you atleast know you have some power and ground which leaved the actuator. Trust me I've replaced probably over a hundred.
