Hey all,

I'm looking to mount a CB radio in my '02 Suburban. Seemed easy enough. When I got to look at the distribution box above the driver's left foot, I wasn't able to figure out which spares were ACC and RUN power only. To take a look at the drawing go here: http://www.extendedg...rolet-Tahoe.pdf and head to page 6-72. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

KFalcon- I have just what you need. I used it too a while back and put-together all my ACC PWR needs, nice & clean & OEM-LOOKING all fused and labled and controled by truck's RAP! Read on to see about getting the download or emailing me if my posted files don't work right.

I'll try to post a 4 pg RTF text document here for you. I have bad luck with any post direct to the forums so if you don't see it soon, PM me with an email address and I'll send it to you direct. What is it? Good question. It's a down and dirty copy / paste doc I threw together from an excellent article someone else posted here a few months ago. I cannot take ANY credit at all he did the work, but now I can't find my way back to his original post. I'll get you what I have and you can also use the terms inside it to search for his excellent article and info he provided. The doc is 4 pages and pg 3 has the diagram that you need and pg 1 has the how-to info and the parts you need to buy to add a complete 6 pin plug right next to the trailer harness plug and you'll have the true GM Acc PWR take off cable with 1 ground, 2 Batt +12V and 2 ACC/RUN SW +12V and 1 unused term.- all in that neat plug in box. It's cake to do on our trucks. I did it in 10 - 15 min. What's best all wires correspond to fuses in the U/Hood and Inside Left Fuse Blocks and work with the GM RAP (retained acc power) that keeps radio & lights going until you exit the truck.

Follow his instructions but do not (DO NOT) install the wires with their terminal ends into the designated slots in the 6 way term plug yet. See my notes and dbl check your truck to be sure it matches his or mine, then wire up in the order that matches your power box connectors. He was instructing to those with the newer GMT900 trucks. We have GMT800 trucks and the pin-out arrangement is just a bit moved around. Knowing this now will make the whole thing EZ. If you have trouble finding parts or making the plug, I have an extra already made you can have for the postage. I think I only have $3-$4 in parts in it so no big deal. I've attached a zip of the file. It's at the very top up above your Quote Box. When you open and read it, try using an app like MS Word etc that allows you to resize pics. I copied the original author's pics into mine but my app squished them. They are fine if you copy them and open them in a new app. I was in a hurry that day and just grabbed what I could in a hurry. Look for a note on pg 3 from me saying how the pins are in a different order for our GMT800 trucks. Be sure to confirm the pins with a test light or meter on your truck before you plug in the new wiring & plug. Good luck and let me know if you need any further info.
