WTF are we doing about this?

Ya know this is the kind of crap that really rags my ass! Right at 100K things just start falling apart. I have an 08 Ext cab 2WD and these things started popping out everytime I shut one of the doors, now they stay out permanently. Seriously?

I put almost 200K on my Tacoma and it was as tight as a drum the day I sold it.

Not happy

My 09 with 28k on it just started doing the same thing a few weeks ago. I thought it was my son pulling on it, maybe it wasn't......

plastic starts to get brittle after time and the clips that hold them in don't work so good...

how bout the extended doors have to be slammed shut or they rattle like crazy. Both plastic door runners also pop up regularly and have to be reinstalled. The dash has a squeak in one of the vents that has to be muffled by turning up the radio. Mechanically its been a good truck, cosmetically it sucks.

So I guess Toyota uses different plastic?

I'm on my 3rd GMT900 and none of the trucks have had the issues you described. Maybe I don't keep mine long enough.

Sure, Toyota could use different plastic but they also have different designs. From my experience with Lexus, Toyota has gone downhill. All 3 of the GMT900 trucks I had were put together better than the last Lexus we had.

I drive my 08 on the street, no off roading, very few rear passengers its not like this thing has been abused. If you look at the how this thing was attached they were never intended to last. The clips on the back of my TV remote are stronger for petes sake!

Rather have that switch fall out then my hub bearing to give out...again! Especially since the bearings gave out long before 100k miles.

I must admit that is the first time I've heard of that problem. Is it easy to replace?

Probably easier than changing a wiper blade

My 08 extended cab did this, both back doors. I epoxy'd the hell out of them. Lol. In a year I will be trading again, and I hope GM really up'd their game so I can still remain faithful.

That was the one thing I missed about my old Sonoma was the wiper arms that folded out. It made it real easy to replace wipers and since I lived in Alaska when I bought this truck kept the blade from freezing to the windshield in winters.

cant say this has happened to mine yet.. but there has been plenty of other things that have started falling apart. Its like the trucks are set to self-destruct at a predetermined mileage! Thanks alot GM..
