Yes, steering wheel buttons now jump to XM presets, though only within the "band".

Interestingly, my deck boots up differently now it seems too. Before, Nav seemed to load in the background so if say I took off and by the time I reached the main road wanted to enter a destination, it would be at the safety screen. Now, no matter how long it is running for when I press nav it loads navigation just then. I've never toyed with the program files like some have either.

That's interesting - I haven't put the new firmware in yet, and my nav does not load in the background at all. I wonder if there's something I could do to get it to do what yours used to do.

There is, people have modified the files with mixed results. I never tried because I didn't understand what people were complaining about.

Did you have your OGM-1 set to run nav automatically? Did it always switch to nav screen after about 10 seconds of changing to tuner, or CD?

Nope. It defaulted to whatever radio type I had last.

There are changes that can be made to the config files that will not only allow it to auto boot nav but also bypass the warning screen. I have to find the info on which files and what the settings are to see if it works any better with this new firmware. With the previous firmware, if you started the truck with the ipod set as the source (using it before you turn it off last) it would cause the entire unit to run really slow.

I am hoping that is something the fixed but have to try it.

A previous thread about editing the startup files.

You will want to read it all before doing anything as some of the earlier posts were experimental and didn't work as hoped. Bypassing the warning screen was solved, but having the nav boot automatically when the OGM-1 starts up was problematic. In post #113 Walt explains why you probably don't want to have the nav start automatically, as it can cause the unit to run out of memory.

Question for those of you that have already updated your units:

When your iphone is attached to the unit via the jlink and you are listening to Pandora, is the Pandora information still displayed on the phone screen, or do you get the accessory connected image on the phone like you do when you use the ipod feature?

You get a screen with the Advent logo. You can still navigate the phone though.

I was afraid of that, I use the navigation all the time and my phone dock is right above my unit. It's nice to see the Pandora info on the phone while navigating. On the other hand, it's annoying not being able to see the ipod info.

I guess I'll be skipping this update.

You might be able to still open the program, I didn't try. I'll be leaving for lunch in a bit and will check to see what it does.

I Installed the new update and it looks like the major fix was for the iPhone (Pandora), does anyone know if advent is still working on things like Better chime management and faster boot time or backup camera wile in drive???

I noticed something today that I do not think the deck did prior to this update:

When using the iPod and navigation, the GPS will now pause the music and give instructions where before the music would still "play" (you couldn't hear it) and then come back after GPS girl was done running her mouth.
