TPMS question

I could probably call the dealer and ask tomorrow, but i figured i'd ask here, also.

I bought some factory 20" tahoe wheels and tires with TPMS in them from factory.

My truck currently has the 20" aftermarkets with 33" nittos with TPMS programmed from the truck.

Question:

Am i able to put these tahoe wheels and tires on the truck, get the sensors programmed to it and my other sensors work too?

I'm asking because i want to take the Nitto's off for a while and run street tires but don't want to lose programming.

I guess i should be blunt and just ask, can you have two sets of sensors programmed to the same truck??

There are some caveats for having two sets of sensors in two set of wheels. I have two sets and they both have the same ID#s cloned for them, so in theory they just swap out and everything works the same, however when I rotate I still must relearn the positions for the sensors in each wheel to get them to display in the right location. If you have non-cloned sensors then thye will not be recognized until you do a sensor relearn and I have been told that you must have an activation tool to do this on 2012 and above trucks. It is less than $50 to get at the dealer. As well, both sets of sensors must be compatible with your truck.

My sensors are not cloned I just do the redo when I change tires/wheels since I don't run the tires in the same location every time this step would be neccessary anyway. I do not have a tool, it would be nicer just havent made the purchase yet.

I use the air out method with no problems. Not sure if that will still work on 2012 models but it does work on my 2011 built in January/11.
