Anybody ever take off your Weathertech flaps?

I had the GM flaps on my 2000 that I could never take off because they had worn down to bar metal! I'm wondering if the no drill Warthertechs for my 2012 rub on the paint also? I want to avoid it this time. Has anybody ever taken their Weathertechs off? Paint damage?

Put a clear film where it makes contact and you should be fine..I ran them for a winter that way and no damage

huskyliner sends clear film with theirs. but you also drill for the rear ones on husky's

I had WeatherTechs on my 2008. When I took them off, 3 of them hadn't done a thing to the paint, but the one on the front passenger side had rubbed away most of the paint under it. When I installed them on my 2011, I put a small strip of 3M tape on each where they touched the paint. I'm sure that will keep it from happening again.

i second this does anyone know where we could get this 3m tape? when i bought my truck it came with some already on my back flaps but not the front and that would be perfect for the front but not sure where to get them
