FINALLY! Got those damn automatic doorlocks fixed!

Although I agree they are annoying...and the constantly moving parts wear out faster...and we should be able to have the option of turning them off...auto locks are a safety feature. Not only do they keep unwanted people out of your vehicle while your driving in the city...they also help keep you inside your vehicle in the event of a rollover or crash that would try to pop the doors open.

Was there any identifying or descriptive information on your repair order about how they did this?

 

I've asked 2 dealer service departments so far, and neither has claimed to know how to turn off the "auto-locking". I've been told they 'used to' be able to turn it off, but not any more...

 

It really annoying at times.

Bob, Sorry that it took so long to respond to this. I haven't checked this thread for a long time. But if you happen to read it, they reprogrammed the BCM (Body Control Module) and they had to (a) get authorization from the service manager and (b) technical instruction from GM while they did it. It's not something a dealership would normally know, but they should know the people to ask.

 

If nothing else, I suggest you call the Service Department at Team Chevrolet here in Georgia (888-232-5407) and ask them exactly what they did. Good luck
