I rested the door panel on a gas can while I climbed underneath the door on the ground. ...just waiting for the panel to fall on my face. but it never did, and i never got that cable loose.

Someday I hope to learn how you got the damned door cables unfastened. I jacked with those things for way too long before I gave up.

 

 

Needle nose pliers and a second person makes a difference.

 

 

45 degree needle nose pliers work best, and you don't even need another person. I get 'em off in about 10 seconds...
