Well, after lots of reading and going back and forth back and forth- I decided on my audio setup for the truck. I figured if I was going to do it then I needed to stop messing around and dive into it. Going to use this thread to document the install and potential pro's and con's. I am not a certified pro nor do I have any piece of paper that says I would be. Take what you want front this thread :)

Currently the idea is to have a somewhat sound quality system with a lot of bass. Now, I realize the problem with that. I also have accepted I am a bass head and will not back down. I went front Kicker CVR's, to Alpine Type R's, to the Type X, Then the MTX 9500. Even still not satisfied, I have yet to decide fully on my bass setup. Will openly accept any suggestions or thoughts on the topic. Anyways, current (paid for) setup will consist of:

Advent OGM-1 Nav (Installed)

Front Stage: Focal 165 v30 Components

Rear Fill: Polk MM651 Coaxials

Rockford T800ad 4ch amp

Dynamat Xtreme deadened doors (for now)

Currently have a run of Rockford 0 gauge ran to the rear of the cab.

Will split that into 2 4 gauge runs if I need to.

As far as the sub goes, I do have a crew cab and I do like the interior space back there. Ive pretty much decided the JL stealthbox just will not get loud enough for me. I know that based off of the specs of the subs inside the box. I've had higher and not been satisfied. Done deal.

Now, with that out of the way my initial thoughts have been either 1 12 such as a RE XXX. Or something like 4 Sundown 8's fitting in a box under the rear seat. The cost involved is significant so I'd like to get it right the first time.

Pictures to follow when everything gets here. Should be early next week. Just in time for my birthday :smash::drool:

If you had money to blow and were of The truest bass heads lol, you could take out the rear seats, install captains seats instead and use the middle space for whatever your bass needs might be.

Never thought about that. Is it possible? Just mount the same seats that are installed up front bolt right up to the back cab mounts? I'm really leaning more towards something less permanent and that won't be ungodly heavy to take out incase I go on vacation and could really use the extra cab space back there. I did get the crew cab for a reason after all. The problem is the louder I go, the more space I'm going to need. So indecisive.

Pictures to follow. the 18th, to be exact.

Im gonna follow this thread closely as I too have a 2010 crew and im looking to ahem, tweak the system in mine as well.

Have fun in whatever you end up doing! Though I didn't care for.pic taking. I just replaced all the door speakers and amp in the truck again lol. As always, sounds even better than before. And the subs are hitting harder than ever!

I just added the Pioneer TS-SWX251 along with a Kicker 11DX500.1 mono amp and boy does it wake up the bass in my truck. The other components are Boston Acoustic SC60 components(front doors and tweeters for A pillars), SC65 6.5" coax(rear doors) and a GTA704 70W RMS X 4 amp. If you're looking to add bass with bass control feature and not take up a lot of space, I would definitely recommend the Pioneer 10" subwoofer. You can place it under the rear seat on the passenger side and still be able to fold up the back seat behind the driver for hauling and storage. The amps are mounted behind the rear seats so I can still fold them both up and allow floor space in the rear if needed.

I plan to mount both the 4ch and sub amp on MDF secured behind the seat. Currently the 4ch is not secured to anything until I make up my mind. I've basically decided on the Rockford T2500bd or Sundown 2500. As far as shallow mount subs these were suggested to me due to the minimal mounting depth-

Again, a bit concerned they just won't be loud enough ;)

I got everything installed and mounted up today. Took nearly 7 hours total and I had a little help. Pictures will come when I get back home in the morning. Worked 3rd last night, stayed up all day doing the install, and back at it for 3rd tonight (yes i'm at work :ninja: )

Had a few issues, I decided to mount the tweeters in the sail panels as the Focal tweets would not fit in the A pillar without cutting on it. I figure- A pillar cost>Sail Panel cost. Unfortunately they are flush mounted and I'm not sure how I feel about the driver side tweeter as it points almost directly into the side of the dash by the DIC.

Also, it seems like the OGM-1 isn't cut out for serious aftermarket audio components. It's got all the RCA's I want..9 band EQ is nice but- I now hear a faint whine when the volume is at 0 now. Almost like signal interference that increases with RPM. Not sure of the OGM1 is a powerful enough deck for everything I'm running to it. Kind of a dissapointment with how much they cost :nopity:

Hopefully I get the issues ironed out. Install pictures to come in the morning :ughdance:

Someday I hope to learn how you got the damned door cables unfastened. I jacked with those things for way too long before I gave up.

Needle nose pliers and a second person makes a difference.
