Nfab's Do Not Fit !! WTF?

I have the right bars and the right hardware. The instructions say to mount the bar to the "vertical part of the floor pan" with hex bolts and an existing threaded nut in the floor pan. WELL i dont have that existing threaded nut on my truck at all on either side in all 3 mounting locations. Any 1 else run into this problem?

did it come with black clips the bolts thread into that you can put in?

Yes but they are for the pinch weld for the lower attachment points. They only gave 6 and I believe they are too small to support the weight. I would have to maybe get bigger J clips but I'm not sure that it will support the weight since it was designed to e held up with hex bolts with factory threaded holes.

I bet they gave you the wrong bars. I see you have a 2007 new body style, I bet they gave you the bars for a 2007 classic bodystyle.

All the holes line up, the instructions say its for a 2007-2010. I'm missing something here and I can't put my finger on what the problem is

My truck has the thread holes. Did they cover the holes up with tape to protect them?

 

 

Maybe take a picture where they should be at.

You will also use the black clips on the upper holes that do not have a nut welded in place. I know it doesn't seem that way, but after you see it mounted you will be slapping yourself!

 

Trust me, I had the same issue. It took me reading the instructions more than once and then calling NFab support which really wasnt that helpful. There documentation isnt the greatest!

I had to drill out nuts that were welded in place on the pinch weld, was a PITA. They fit great after that, and N Fab customer support is a waist of time.

I do not have any more Black J clips. The only included 6 and they are for the lower pinch weld. And the j clips included are small. The hex bolts given for the upper mounting locations are larger and require a larger j clip. Does nfab supply those ?

I didn't see any tape, I wil take a picture later when I get home from work. There is just holes .... If i put a j clip in there I feel it won't be that stable as its only sheet metal lol

As far as the nuts welded to the pinch welds go, you do not have to drill them out. Just stick a rachet / socket on them and twist. They will break off fairly easily. And YES, you are suppose to use J clips on the upper holes with no nut!

Well they did not include those j clips and I have no welded nuts anywhere lol all I have is holes everywhere ...

I tried wrenching those nuts off, couldn't get them to budge. You must be stronger than me, lol. Six clips is all I used if I remember correctly, the carriage bolts go on the bottom. I can get a pic if it will help. Here we go:

That really helps ... Thank you very much... It sounds and looks completely opposite of how they say to install it but it will def work that way. I thought it would be better with the bigger carriage bolts in the upper mount for support but maybe in wrong .... It will work lol thx ... Weld em lmao
