Indication for AFM

When a Sierra has AFM why is it possible to get it and not have AFM Indication when it's operating? Why an option for the Indication? 2011 Sierra All Terrain.

Ya, disable the AFM with a tune.

Actually, I think the trucks are the only vehicles that offer the option to see which mode (V4 or V8) that the engine is in. I know for sure the new camaros have AFM but no option for indication and a friend owned a pontiac GXP that had it also but no indicator for mode. I agree that the trucks drive much better with it disabled. Ask me how I know.
