They do not even need a code from gm, you got to modules, body and clear radio theft info if I remember correctly

Depending on the radio, they may be able to do the procedure above (clear theft code), but far more likely is that they will have to hook it to Tech2 with a Candi module (or do it via their WiFi MDI system), then program the truck with the radio part # (or the option code that corresponds to the radio part #), just as if that radio was originally in the truck. What a lot of GM techs can't wrap their brain around is that they have to identify the new radio and determine the associated RPO code when they reprogram the truck with it.

My friend found a dealer who can do it! It is his homebase dealer where he bought the truck. They are doing it as we speak. The place Eagleridge GM.

Faith in humanity (or at least GM) restored.

Don't know about BC, but around here, dealers do not touch radio issues. They call in an outside radio company that seems to service just about all the different brand dealers. The salesman I deal with told me that the company they use also installs the nav systems when a truck is sold off the lot that did not have nav factory installed. He showed me the brochure on the nav system they install. Looked just like my OGM-1. Price installed is $1499CAN for just the head unit, using stock speakers.
