4.8 gets pulled Thursday

Ummm I still need to visit the smog referee to legalize it. But all the original emissions equipment was put back on. But on the outside it looks like the 4.8.

 

But to be legal in California it has to be the same year or newer (2006), come from the same class of vehicle (light duty truck), and retain all emissions equipment. Also a California certified vehicle can only receive an engine that is California certified. I had the swap done by the book. I just need to have it certified

 

But I just got a P0300 code today. Generic code for random/multiple misfires

No one owes me nothing. Disability is not from combat. I fractured 4 vertebrae and wore down discs just working while I was in. Tranny and TVS1900 are in the cards just not immediately. A cam is too.

But I drop off my truck in an hr and a half. I have to drive out of town for school and won't get back til midnight. So there is no way I'll be up at 8 to drop it off tomorrow.

Yikes. I feel (some of) your pain. I have spondilolisthesis, possibly broken L5 that caused it, which is 17% off at least and disfigured/deformed, and my hip has a malformation also. For those that might need to google it, my spine above that point ( practically all of it) is pulled further in because of the injury. Spasm latches in the mid back vertebrae to support it and is so strong the muscle shows up on Xray. Lot of fun being 27 and wondering if you can make it well enough to never get a spinal fusion. Or at least long enough.

 

I'm lucky in one spot though, my discs are great, probably what's holding it together. Not sure how long they will last, can only imagine its wearing them down fast.

Any clue on the code? Just a code or does it feel off?

It feels fine. I may clean the MAF and TB, It's a generic code.

I cleared it and it hasn't came back

 

The combo of this app and transmitter make things so much easier. It will even take you online and tell you what the code means for different makes

Cool! How much was that? And whered you get it?

The app is on the android market for about $5-10 I cant remember. The transmitter was on amazon for $15, The tobacco was at my local gas station for $3.65

The app is called Torque, the adapter is ELM 327. It hooks to your phone or tablet by way of Bluetooth

Thank you! I looked at my dads Escalade ext and it has an LQ9 with a 4L60e so you should be fine

I thought it has the 4L65E. I will be making more power, but I need the trans beefed up. Im up 30 or so HP than stock right now
