Hey chris..you got me thinking now...my girlfreind want to keep her 03 tahoe vs going to 07-08.. So should i build the 5.3 or get a 6.0 like you did im thinking.. How much was involved in the total process..did they swap the computer and stuff, Im might be more cost effective to get a 6.0 vs building the motor.. Let me know what you think and or if you would have done anything different!

I'm looking for about 450 to the wheels later. A mild cam and a tvs1900. That should put me where I want.

No I missed yours. I caught Jon's. I'm playing poker and just scanned my phone. They kept my computer and reflashed it. They used a 6.0 long block and kept my accessory drive and emissions equipment. 325 to the wheels isn't anything to be ashamed of. Its tuned aggressively but I like it. I think I'll go back to Black Bear and have him build a tow tune and economy for my autocal. But all my electrics, computer, and accessories. They did it in 2 days. So I believe it was straight forward and then tuning was required.

Now I'm looking into the Callaway 22" wheels in black. $800 a piece from Callaway. With 285/45's

I'm leveled 2.5" up front and have a 1.25" block out back. Do those have the factory offset. I rub at left full lock with what I have.

I'm also looking into chrome or grey TBSS wheels in a 22x9 or another set of Silverado SS wheels in a 22x9 or 22x10. According to the place I bought my current wheels, the correct size tire to go to 22's when you have a 275/55R20 is the 305/40R22. The BFG's you have wear quickly from what I read. Are they a sticky tire?

I'm looking at those BFG G-Force T/A KDW2, which I am guessing, Toyo Proxes ST Performance Tire, and the Cooper Zeon XST-A.

The Toyo's are the least expensive, they are all V rated except the BFG's are W rated. The BFG has the worst treadwear rating of the 3 and is the most expensive.

It is warm here. Mostly sunny. Very short winters and no snow. I do go to Utah on occasion.

Decisions decisions. But the new tranny comes first. And I also want to do a Corsa sport cat-back, ported LQ9 heads and a mild cam. I decided to get ported LQ9 heads instead of L92 so I don't raise compression. That can cause high NOx measurement during emissions testing and possible failure. Also do a Baer BBK.

Tranny is top priority, and the Corsa Sport 3 inch is up there. The rest is whenever. TVS1900 is last. But Jon I'm coming for you. The Texas Speed and cam package should give me a good power bump. And then the TVS1900 I should be near 500 to the wheels. I may have to go to Iowa when its all done and we run them. But I'm planning ahead a year or 2.

The BFG's are very sticky. Check traction ratings on all as I don't know what they are on the other tires. I have about 7000 on mine, wear seems normal. Will switch to factory 18" takeoffs that I picked up from the dealership at the first sign of snow, BFG's are a summer tire with big treadblocks not meant for snow. Not sure on offset, my front is factory height and rear is down 2", so our trucks are probably about the same height with your suspension mods...

As for that run, you'll probably get me at the top end with less weight and 2WD, but when I launch in 4WD and you're tryin' to plant all those horses, you're gonna have to catch me! :driving:

I can do summer tires year round here. Hell its December and 70 degrees. Tread wear is a big one because I put a lot of miles on it

Ummm I still need to visit the smog referee to legalize it. But all the original emissions equipment was put back on. But on the outside it looks like the 4.8.

But to be legal in California it has to be the same year or newer (2006), come from the same class of vehicle (light duty truck), and retain all emissions equipment. Also a California certified vehicle can only receive an engine that is California certified. I had the swap done by the book. I just need to have it certified

But I just got a P0300 code today. Generic code for random/multiple misfires

Nice. Makes me want one now. What kind of mileage are you getting out of that 6.0? Im just wondering how much of a difference there is in having a 6.0 in a half ton vs. a 3/4 ton. My 06 2500 had the 6.0 but never got better than 14 around here.
