I have a 2007 Chev Classic 1500 Crew cab, up until recently when I locked the doors it would take once with the fob to lock and twice to make the horn beep. Now for some reason it honks on the first try. I would like to change it back to the way it was. Can anyone help me out with this, when I bought the truck it did not come with a manual to help with little things like this.

Thanks

Do you have any sort of aftermarket alarm or remote start? If so, that might change it. If everything is factory, do you have the DIC (driver info center) controls on your steering wheel? If so, it might be an option in a menu somewhere. Also, is it one beep or several? I think if a door is not closed it might do a couple short honks or something like that.

Unfortunately I have a similar problem. Cleaning off the contacts inside the key fob helped but still truck goes nuts with the horn way too often.

snowbear,

You can find information on Lock Feedback on page 281 of your owner's manual.

Press the customization button until LOCK FEEDBACK appears in the display. To select your preference for the feedback you receive when locking the vehicle with the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter, press the select button while LOCK FEEDBACK is displayed on the DIC. Pressing the select button will scroll through the following choices:

LOCK FEEDBACK: BOTH (default): The parking lamps will flash each time you press the button with the lock symbol on the RKE transmitter and the horn will chirp the second time you press the lock button.

LOCK FEEDBACK: LAMPS: The parking lamps will flash each time you press the button with the lock symbol on the RKE transmitter.

LOCK FEEDBACK: HORN: The horn will chirpthe second time you press the button with the lock symbol on the RKE transmitter.

LOCK FEEDBACK: OFF: There will be no feedback when locking the vehicle.

Choose one of the available options and press the customization button while it is displayed on the DIC to select it and move on to the next feature. Let me know if you have any additional questions. Thank you.

Thanks guys for your replies. I will try doing what customer service suggested, just have to wait for my wife to return with the truck.
