Bad Ride Quality/Shaking issue

My 01 2500hd seems to ride how people describe the new trucks to ride shaky/bumpy, I really don't think the truck has always had such a rough ride even on smoothe newly paved roads with no obvious potholes or bumps it seems like its riding way rougher than it ever did, any ideas? Also on highway speeds of 60+ I feel like there is some play in the steering is there anyway to tighten my steering again?

Thanks,

-Kurt

Shocks were replaced at like 55000 2 years ago with rancho 5000 series the truck now has just about 75000 on it so that's the least likely, but could still potentially be an issue

May be time to take it to a shop and have a "once over" done on the front end. I know on my truck the pitman and idler were shot and gave me all kinds of problems. Plus what about your tires? Wearing good, pressure right, balance good?

Steering not sure of, how old are the shocks? Mine went south at around 70k and it shook, rocked, and if the road was rough it was an unpleasant ride

Funny you ask about the tires it was aligned after I broke one of the torsion bolts with a new set of tires the back two are balding cause I'm a little too hard on them and the occasional spin is hard to avoid. The driver side front seems to be wearing perfectly fine, but the passenger front is almost full tread on the inside and the outside is nearly bald??? No idea why just had an alignment done

Oups accidentally posted this twice...stupid iPhone, the shocks were replaced at 55000 2 years ago new I had 4 new tires put on and an alignment shortly after I got the tires and broke a torsion bolt, all tire wear seems normal besides the front passenger which is almost full tread on the inside and nearly bald on the outside?

I would think that would be camber being off on the RF tire. But I'm not sure if that would cause shaking

about every 30 to 40k miles, you should have your truck aligned and tires balanced.. my truck just started a small vibration in the wheel at various speeds and it had been about 25k since and alignment, balancing. got it aligned and balcanced it rides great. as for the play in the steering, there is a screw in the steering box that you can tighten, i have my alignment shop do it when i get an alignment.
