Raced SRT-8 jeep... :)

first off i would like to say it was an empty highway late at night with nobody else around on a wide open hghway and nobody in the vehicle with me.

 

well like the title says, i got out of the airport 1am christmas eve the other day in Thunder bay. was driving around looking everywhere for a place that was open to get some fuel. i was travelling on a highway that had 60 mph limit and lights every 1 mile or so. i was on the stretch of highway all along, then a notice a jeep merging and gunned it. so i hit the powa switch quick caught up to him in a flash. low and behold we are sitting at a red light, hes starin at me LOL. so i popped it in 4x4 quickly, i launched at 7 PSI. the light went green and were off!! it was close race to say the least but you could tell who had more balls ...at 85-90 mph i was about 2 lenths ahead of him. 3 red lights in a row we had some fun, all 3 races exact same result. the last race we had windows down and we rolled from 30 mph, this way i could go in 2 wheel drive. he gained a half right off the bat then i started walkin we went until i was about 120 mph he was 3-4 lengths behind me. then i pulled in the gas station i was heading for, he pulled in for a chat. had to ask about the truck i says "you see the badge on the front grille? " he started laughing. he was nice fella. gave his jeep props as well for keepin up to a truck with over 1200 ft lbs of torque!! them jeeps are FAST in bone stock form!!!

 

all in all i was impressed, i didnt think it would beat a brand new srt 8 i knew they are a low 13 second machine. i was expecting a loss but the dmax pulled thru!!! not bad for almost 7500 lbs sittin on 35's!! i cant wait till next summer to go in some drag races with some 265's and strip some weight! it will be in 12's for sure
