Testing old speakers?

Ok i finally took my old speakers out of my 07 sierra because they decide when they want to work and not . I have a previous post in here about that issue and a lot of the replies are that they are blown....now that i have them out and sitting here in front of me is there a easy way to confirm that they are blown without going to buy new ones and installing them and still not having any sound?/........thanks

The paper cone should be deteriorated around the edges or torn so when you press the cone from underneath, it separates from the outer basket

9v battery to the terminals works too. Just don't plug them into the house plug in. A 60hz square wave would make a nice smoke show!

I'd hook them up to your home stereo if you have one. If they are blown, they usually sound like crap (rattle, etc). In rare occasions the coil blows up, and you get no sound.
