Aluminum oxidization

Recommended Posts

I have death metal/machined BMF novakanes. I've been noticing a little bit of oxidation on the bare aluminum. It's freakin me out I don't know how to remove it without damaging the powder coated spots in the rims.. Then seal it after...? Anyone had an issues like this? If so what did you do to correct it?

No I haven't tried anything like that yet, maybe I should. I was just worried it will damage the powder coat portions of the rim. I don't wanna hurt the rims...

Just tape off the powder coat

I'm surprised you are having issues with those rims, as much as they want for them they should be PERFECT. How old are they?

I know, they aren't cheap rims. Less than 2 years old, I've only driven with them in the winter a couple times. And always washed off right away, last winter the truck was parked. Never really seen snow or off road. I'm in the process trying to get ahold of BMF, I'm not very pleased with the service so far...
