So I was trying to figure out costs for a trip my girlfriend and I are going on and to get the right gas mileage for my truck I have to use a 04 AWD Silverado SS with 4.10's as input data. It sucks that my mileage is that bad

Never cost as much as a guy like me paying ridiculous gas prices in a country that produces more than it consumes!

Well the trip should cost $66 round trip in gas. Hotel is gonna be like $416. But the cost isn't the thing. Its the mileage I get now. 12/16.

66$ round trip in gas is nothing? For me it's 120$ when I go across state.

I think i have probably the best job here hours wise lol. I come into work right now at 0730, leave around 0930-1000, go to the gym to work out, then get home for lunch. Then I just chill and play xbox the rest of the afternoon til the fiancee gets home.

I got you both beat. I make $3600 a month tax free and all I do is go to school one day a week. I sleep in til noon every day. The only thing I have to do is pick my brother up from school, and go to school Tuesday nights

Of course how did you think I was able to pay for a 6.0 swap. I dabble in multiple business ventures.

No my housing allowance from the Department of Veterans Affairs for my GI Bill is $2544 a month and my disability from the Department of Veterans Affairs is $1128 a month. Being that it comes from the VA, it is tax exempt

I don't think I could have fathered you. I'm like a year older than you are. The girlfriend makes good money too. You want to call her mom even though she's younger than you

    • I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
    • Just wanted to get a idea of how many of you still have problems with your radio cutting out during the first few minutes of driving, my 2024 GMC Sierra still does this after a little over 2 years of complaining to my dealer about it, and OTA updates no longer complete, the check for updates in settings is greyed out for the second time while trying to install a update, my dealer took about a week to play around with it the first time this happened, and somehow got the check for updates to work, even though it would always show system is up to date when I knew it wasn't, now again 1 month later its greyed out again when the OTA update N25-F163BU tried to install, which ironically is the update to help with reliability of future updates.

    • Prices on the hi-way are falling daily, $3.66- $3.71, Local has yet to drop, actually some are still going up, $3.87 and up
    • I finally got it to start. It was a mix of a few issues. The frame ground was in bad shape so I ran a new one and cleaned up the area to get a good connection then covered it in rust reformer then bed liner to keep it as clean as possible. The other ground I found that looked suspect was on the frame toward the back of the truck near the bed. I did the same. After pulling the fuse box out from the engine bay I found a couple of wires that looked like at some point mice may have got ahold of it. That was an easy fix. After that i was able to get control power and was able to trace down a few more connections going to the other fuse panels in the cab. After that it finally started up and runs. It sounds like an angry school bus which I can work with. No OBD2 codes, but I think since its set for a long time I should pull the turbo and get it rebuilt or swapped out, but for now im good to go. Thanks for all the advice. It got me on the right track.
